Course Description
Candidates must already be licensed in Cosmetology. The Instructor trainee will learn the methods and teaching techniques required for licensed cosmetologists to become effective classroom and clinic instructors.

The Alabama Board of Cosmetology requires completion of an additional 650 hours (Salon & School) or 1500.00 hours (Full School) and a passing grade to receive a Cosmetology Instructor License.
The Instructor trainees will be under the direct supervision of a licensed instructor at all times. Some areas of the Basic Cosmetology Instructor training are Alabama Law and Regulations, Theory, Practical, Clinical Floor Work, Teaching Skills, Preparing Student's Records, and Testing and Evaluation.
Licensed cosmetology instructors are eligible for hire at state-licensed vocational, proprietary and technical schools.
