Course Description: The Alabama Board of Cosmetology requires completion of 210 hours and a passing grade to receive a Natural Hair Styling License. This program focuses on teaching natural hair care, braiding and twisting skills, sanitization and professionalism.
Program Overview & Career Opportunities for Natural Hair StylistsThe Natural Hair Stylist course introduces the technical and creative aspects of braiding, styling, and grooming hair that is naturally curly or multi-textured. Upon completion students will become State licensed to work behind the chair with skills in shampooing, blow-drying, brush styles, sew-ins, twisting, wrapping, weaving, locking, braiding, and all types of extension application.

Will teach four types of haircutting:
-Fringe cutting
-Notching cutting
-Texturizing
-Thinning shears

-Tapered Cut
The Four Basic Fundamental Haircuts by using degrees
• The 0 degree haircut is also known as the "Blunt" or "Bob" haircut
• The 45 degree is a haircut, which is also known as the "wedge," or a “bob”
• The 90 degree haircut is also known as the "Layered” haircut
• The 180 degree haircut is also known as the reverse elevation.
We will teach you how to use 3 types of line to use while doing a hair cut.
*Horizontal-these are parallel to the horizon or the floor, used to build weight. Vertical-Usually described as up and down, do the opposite and remove weight. Diagonal-have a sloping or slanting directions, used to create fullness.

Requirements
-Each student is required to pay a $200 non-refundable registration fee
-Each student is required to fill out the registration application
-Each student is required to pay a deposit of $1600 that goes towards the full balance of your tuition costs
-High school diploma or completed 10th grade with GED
-Complete 210 clocked in hours from BluePrint academy
-16 years of age or older
-Primary Identification: Start Driver’s license, state ID card, U.S. Government issued passport, U.S. issued military identification card, us government issued alien registration card-Secondary: credit card (must be signed)
-Social security card
-US issued birth certificate with raised seal

If you choose to pay for your tuition in installations, you will first need to pay your $1600 deposit in full, and your remaining balance of $3,500 in a 6 week timespan.
